Home and Apartment Cleanouts

An empty unit that has to turn over by the weekend, or a family home nobody has been able to face. Both are the same job to us: everything out, floor swept, doors locked behind us.

Empty apartment room cleared and swept after a cleanout

Rentals and turnovers

Tenants leave things behind. We clear the unit down to bare floor so it can be cleaned, painted and listed. Property managers can hand us a key and get photos when it is finished -- you do not have to stand in the doorway for it.

Family homes and estates

This is the work Ariel started with, clearing out a neighbor's home that had become hard to live in. It moves at your pace. We separate out anything that looks like it matters -- paperwork, photographs, jewelry -- and set it aside for you rather than making that call ourselves.

Storage units

Units get cleared and swept the same way. If you are paying rent on a unit you have not opened in two years, that is a single visit and a bill you stop paying.

How long a cleanout actually takes

A one-bedroom apartment is usually a single visit. A family home lived in for thirty years is not, and anyone who tells you otherwise has not seen the attic yet. We walk it with you first and give you a realistic shape for the job -- how many loads, how many days and what it comes to -- before you commit to anything.

Donation and recycling on a cleanout

A cleanout produces more usable material than any other job we do. Furniture in decent condition, clothing, kitchenware and books do not need to go into the ground, and we separate them as we load. What is left splits again into metal and cardboard for recycling and genuine waste for the transfer station.

Landlords and property managers

If you manage units, the useful part is that we can work from a key and turn a unit around without you being there. You get photos when it is empty and swept. On a turnover with a deadline that is often the difference between listing on Monday and listing the week after.

Questions

Cleanouts questions

Do I have to be there for the whole cleanout?

No. Plenty of our cleanout customers live out of state. We can work from a key or a lockbox and send photos as we go.

What happens if you find something valuable?

We set it aside and tell you. Paperwork, photos and anything that looks personal gets put to one side, not thrown in the truck.

Do you take everything in the house?

Almost. We do not do furniture moving -- if you want items relocated rather than removed, that is a mover's job, not ours.
